This edition covers eleven grades (E 235 to E 650) with sub-qualities A / BR / B0 / C for grades E 235–E 410 and A / BR for grades E 450–E 650 — a different structure from older editions still commonly referenced (e.g. IS 803-1976 cites IS 2062-1969, and IS 2062-2006 had a different grade set entirely). Confirm this is the edition your project or governing code actually specifies. The Charpy acceptance rule here (§12.4: average of 3 must meet the minimum with no individual value below 70%; a shortfall within 15% allows three more specimens averaged with the first three) is IS 2062's own rule and is different from API 650's Table 4-5 acceptance rule (no more than one value below the minimum, none below two-thirds) — don't cross-apply the two.
Not included: the reduced-size Charpy specimen chart (Fig. 2, for thickness under 12 mm), IS 1599 (bend test method) and IS 1757 (Charpy specimen preparation) themselves, and dimensional/mass tolerances (IS 1852, referenced by clause 14).

Required minimum and test temperature come from Table 3 for the grade, quality and thickness above. Pass: average of 3 meets the minimum and no individual value is below 70% of it. If the average falls short by up to 15%, three more specimens are tested and averaged with the first three (§12.4).
