Coated Fabric Testing
Breaking strength, elongation, bursting/puncture resistance, low-temperature impact, and flex resistance reference for fabric-reinforced elastomer components such as rim seals (ASTM D751, IS 7016-14, ISO 7854/AS 4878.9)
◉ ASTM D751-06, IS 7016-14:2003 (ISO 4646:1989), ISO 7854:1995 STYLE CHECK · NOT A REGULATORY SUBMISSION TOOL
⚠ Indicative tool only. D751 and IS 7016-14 were uploaded as complete standards. ISO 7854 / AS 4878.9 (flex resistance) were both uploaded as preview excerpts that end after Method A (De Mattia) apparatus and procedure — before Method B, Method C, and the damage-rating criteria in Clause 6. That card below is reference-only for Method A setup, not a working pass/fail calculator.

Breaking Strength, Elongation, Bursting & Puncture Resistance (ASTM D751)
All four properties are reported as the average (breaking/elongation/bursting: 5 tests; puncture: 5 tests) — there's no per-specimen formula beyond averaging. Enter up to 5 individual results for whichever property you're averaging.
Breaking strength: grab test (default) or cut strip method (25mm width). Elongation: measured with a 1.7N (6 ozf) initial load applied before gripping. Bursting strength: gross pressure minus diaphragm tare. Discard and replace any result attributable to faulty operation (slipping, clamp-edge breaks) per §15.1.

Low Temperature Impact Test (IS 7016-14 / ISO 4646)
Required clamp clearance is looked up from test piece thickness (Table 1). Striker speed shall be 1.8–2.1 m/s. Immersion time: 3.0±0.5 min at test temperature. Failure = any fracture or crack visible under ×5 magnification after bending the specimen 180° around a 6mm mandrel in the direction of the impact-induced bend.

Flex Resistance — Method A / De Mattia Reference (ISO 7854 / AS 4878.9)
Reference only — the uploaded excerpts end here. Method A (De Mattia): rectangular strip folded twice to form a 125mm × 12.5mm folded specimen, mounted between reciprocating flat grips 70±1mm apart (open) / 13±0.5mm apart (closed), stroke length 57(+0.5/-0)mm, frequency 5.0±0.2 Hz. Six test pieces per sample (3 longitudinal, 3 transverse), each 37.5±1mm wide × 125mm long. Flexing continues to a specified cycle count or until visible deterioration/cracking. Method B (Schildknecht) and Method C (crumple/flex, for severe-duty fabrics) exist in the full standard but weren't included in this excerpt, nor was the Clause 6 damage-rating scale.
