This covers loading rack/transfer classification (§8.2.2) rather than storage tank classification (§8.2.1) — directly relevant to terminal truck/rail loading operations. Verified directly against Figures 9–13 of this edition. A genuinely important distinction the standard draws: open transfer systems require a much larger Zone 2 extent (4.5m/15ft) than closed systems, which for flammable liquid dome transfer specifically need no Zone 2 at all.
