EN 10025-2 / ISO 630-2 Structural Steel
Chemical composition, carbon equivalent, mechanical properties, and Charpy impact requirements for non-alloy structural steel plate, strip and sections
◉ BS EN 10025-2:2019 · ISO 630-2:2021 (3RD ED.) · NOT A REGULATORY SUBMISSION TOOL
⚠ Read this before using the tool for API 650 §4.4.1 material qualification. API 650 lists “ISO 630, Grade E 275, Qualities B, C, and D” and “EN 10025, Grade S 275, Qualities JR, J0, and J2” as acceptable structural-shape materials. The current ISO 630-2:2021 uses S-prefixed grades (S235/S275/S355/S460), not the E-prefixed grade API 650 cites — that naming is from a superseded edition. The quality letters carry over exactly: this tool's own data shows ISO Quality B/C/D has identical chemistry to EN Quality JR/J0/J2 respectively, for every grade and thickness checked (S275 and S355). That correspondence is this tool's own cross-check, not a statement either standard makes about the other, and it does not cover S460, which ISO 630-2 groups its B/C/D qualities into a single chemistry row. Confirm the grade history against your governing code before relying on this for a real material substitution.

EN's K2 quality has no ISO 630-2 Annex A equivalent. S355K2 and S460K2 require higher Charpy energy (40 J at −20°C, footnoted as equivalent to 27 J at −30°C) than any ISO 630-2 Annex A quality offers — ISO's toughest listed quality (D) matches EN's J2 (27 J at −20°C), not K2. Do not treat K2 as interchangeable with D.

EN 10025-2:2019 supersedes the 2004 edition; grade S450 was deleted and S460/S500 were added. ISO 630-2:2021 Annex B (grades SG205/SG250/SG285/SG345) is included below for completeness but is not cited by API 650.

CEV, if left blank, is computed as C + Mn/6 + (Cr+Mo+V)/5 + (Ni+Cu)/15 from the elements above (Cr/Mo/V/Ni default to 0 if not entered, matching both standards' formula in their normative references).

Cross-Standard Comparison
EN quality JR/J0/J2 shown alongside ISO 630-2 Annex A quality B/C/D at the same grade — the pairing this tool's own data confirms is chemically identical for S275 and S355 (checked cell-by-cell, see banner). K2 has no ISO Annex A counterpart and is shown on its own.
